Basement Finishing & Remodeling in Clinton & Camanche
Unlock the Potential Beneath Your FeetTurn your cold, dark storage space into a warm family room, home theater, or guest suite.
From Concrete Storage to Comfortable Living
Your basement represents about 30-50% of your home's total volume. If it's unfinished, it's just expensive storage. Finishing your basement is the most cost-effective way to add significant square footage to your home without the hassle of building an exterior addition.
The Weets Basement Finishing Process:
Turning a cold, concrete storage area into a comfortable living space requires more than just putting up walls. At Weets Home Improvement, we manage the entire project from start to finish to ensure your new room is safe, dry, and built to last.
We don't just put up drywall. We engineer the space for comfort. We address moisture management, insulation, and lighting first, ensuring your new basement doesn't feel like a "dungeon," but like a natural extension of your home.

1. Planning, Permits & Moisture Control Before we ever put up a single piece of wood, we ensure your basement is fundamentally sound and up to code. We handle securing the local building permits and scheduling necessary inspections. We evaluate the space for proper moisture control (including your sump pump setup) and plan for safety requirements like egress windows, ensuring your new bedroom or family room is completely legal and structurally safe.
2. Framing, Mechanicals & Drywall Once the foundation is prepped, the physical transformation begins. We build out the framing, install high-efficiency insulation to regulate the temperature, and coordinate any HVAC extensions, electrical, or plumbing work hidden behind the walls. After the structural work is complete, we move on to professional drywall installation and finishing, creating a seamless, clean slate for your new room.
3. Custom Finishes & Final Walkthrough This is where your vision actually comes to life. We install high-quality, waterproof flooring like Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP), brighten the space with recessed lighting, and polish the room with custom trim work and baseboards. Whether your design includes a modern drop ceiling or a custom-built wet bar, we handle the final details before doing a complete walkthrough with you to ensure everything meets our standards.
Framing & Insulation
We build out the skeleton of your new rooms and install proper insulation (foam or fiberglass) to keep the space warm in winter and prevent condensation on foundation walls.
Lighting Design
Basements lack natural light. We install recessed can lighting (LEDs) to maximize ceiling height and make the space feel bright and airy, even at night.
Ceilings & Flooring
Choose between a drywall ceiling (for a finished look) or a drop ceiling (for access to pipes). For floors, we recommend waterproof LVP to handle potential moisture.
